Prominent British journalist sources have revealed that the Glazer family will maintain control of Manchester United as Qatari tycoon Jassim pulled out of the takeover. The club has expressed concern over the possibility of extreme behavior from fans and has begun to beef up security preparations for the next home game.
With Jassim out of the picture, the only remaining acquirer is now Ratcliffe, however this is a limited deal. The Glazer family still play a major role within United, which is not in line with the expectations of United fans, who have been looking forward to the Glazer family selling all of their shares and exiting the club completely.
Not too long ago, United were due to play Copenhagen at home, their first home game since the end of the international break. The club’s security team had already begun to make plans for a possible riot situation.
The local police have also made it clear that “Greater Manchester Police will be providing support outside United’s home ground during the match against Copenhagen and they will be placing emphasis on the security of the stadium and providing assistance to United fans in their peaceful protest.”
